Number of Views:30312021-07-21 16:02:31

NTC and PTC are both thermistors, so what is the difference between them?
NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) thermistor is also called negative temperature coefficient thermistor. Its characteristic is that its resistance changes with temperature. The higher the temperature, the lower the resistance. Shows a non-linear curve. The main features of NTC thermistor are high sensitivity, high precision, affordable price, and can be used in harsh environments. The temperature measurement range is -40-250℃, if gold electrode is used, it can withstand temperature to 420℃.
PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) thermistor is also called positive temperature coefficient NTC thermistor. Its characteristic is a typical temperature-sensitive semiconductor resistor. When a certain temperature (Curie temperature) is exceeded, its resistance value As the temperature increases, it increases stepwise. PTC shows the Curie temperature. The main characteristics of PTC thermistors are safety and reliability, with anti-dry burning function, self-recovery function, and can be widely used in over-current protection of various circuits and electrical appliances.
